Notary Services- The Library Director (Chastady Bennett) is commissioned to provide notary services. Patrons with a current Galatia Library card and no outstanding fines or overdue material will not be charged for the notary service. Others will be charged $1.00 per item to be notarized.
Proctoring- The Library Director (Chastady Bennett) can assist with your proctoring needs. From real estate testing to off-campus proctoring of college tests, the library is a great testing resource.
E-Books- Are provided by the “Friends of the Galatia Library” group.
Fishing Poles- Galatia Public Library can check out a fishing rod and reel to our patrons. The fishing poles are provided by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The poles have everything you need for a fun day of fishing. All you supply is the fish.
Magazine Swap- If you have finished a copy of a current magazine, don’t drop it in the trash. Recycle. Bring it to the library where someone else might enjoy it.
Puzzle Exchange- Do you like to work puzzles? Bring your old puzzles in and take one of ours.
Board Game Exchange- Do your friends and family like to play board games? Bring in your old board games, and take one of ours. There are games for the whole family to enjoy! You never know which could be your next favorite.
Reading Kits- New to the Galatia Public Library, reading kits contain books plus other relevant and fun materials. For example, the “Little Sister” kit contains several books, a movie, and a plush toy. These are great to help out with nightly reading or story times. Come to the library and check out one of our new kits!
Memorial Brick- Would you like to honor or memorialize a family member? We have just the thing, a memorial brick which would be placed in the entranceway of the Library to be seen by everyone who enters and leaves. Check with the Director for more information.
Talking Book and Braille Service-Patrons of the Galatia Public Library have access to the Illinois State Library Talking Book and Braille Services from the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
